We know everyone has their own story to tell, so weve built an environment where every background is respected and every day is a day to explore.

Well help you build a career that works with your life, while giving you the space to create and grow.

About this role

As a Data Engineer at Reach, you will be at the heart of our data evolution. You will build and scale the infrastructure that powers our insights, ensuring our data platform is robust, automated, and high-performing.

This is a role for a builder, someone who enjoys the challenge of architecting complex pipelines and optimising enterprise-level cloud environments to unlock the true potential of data.

Key Responsibilities

  • Architect & Automate: Provision and manage scalable AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC).
  • Build & Scale: Design and deploy high-performance ETL processes and sophisticated data models to support business-critical analytics.
  • Optimise Performance: Own the end-to-end data lifecycle, from ingestion and monitoring to advanced Redshift loading and optimisation.
  • Collaborate & Influence: Partner with BI engineers, data modellers, and non-technical stakeholders to ensure technical solutions align with Reachs broader data strategy.
  • Governance & Integrity: Document design decisions and processes while upholding a rigorous commitment to Diversity, Inclusion, and Non-discrimination in everything we build.

What You'll Need to Succeed

We are looking for a high-impact Data Engineer who blends deep technical mastery with a proactive, ownership-driven mindset. To thrive in this role, you will bring:

  • Advanced Engineering: Expert-level Python for scalable data processing and a mastery of SQL (DDL/DML) for complex relational database management and optimisation.
  • Cloud & Infrastructure: A deep grasp of the AWS ecosystem Redshift, Athena, S3, Lambda, ECS/EC2 coupled with proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Data Architecture: Proven experience scaling enterprise-level data warehouses. You should be an expert in Kimball methodology, capable of designing Star and Snowflake schemas specifically tuned for Amazon Redshift performance.
  • Pipeline Excellence: Extensive experience building robust ETL pipelines and managing sophisticated orchestration workflows in a production cloud environment.
  • Quality & Integrity: A "quality-first" approach to engineering, utilising unit testing and automated validation to ensure data remains a single source of truth.
  • Strategic Prioritisation: The ability to manage multiple high-priority projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, evolving media environment.
  • The "Translator" Ability: You can bridge the gap between technical complexity and business value, articulating design decisions clearly to both engineers and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Data Advocacy: You dont just move data; you believe in its power. You are resourceful in identifying new opportunities where data can unlock customer loyalty and business growth.
  • Proactive Ownership: You are a self-starter with a "can-do" attitude, taking full responsibility for the health and evolution of the data platform.
